In May
2010 the Connecticut Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists
announced Jason's Person of the Week profile for the East Haven Courier,
"Al Martone: A Glass Half-Full," as the 2nd Place winner in the community
general column division of the Excellence in Journalism Awards.
Additionally, Jason's Person of the Week
profile for the North Haven Courier, "June Pinto: The Joy of Saving
At-Risk Kids," received Honorable Mention in the same
category.

Jason's first collection of poetry, ODE
ON A MARTIAN URN, hits
the sales racks on September 15. The 60 page perfect-bound trade paperback book is illustrated by
Connecticut-based artist Noel Belton and designed by Tom
Goddard, a highly accomplished designer and co-owner of the Sun-Dial
Gardens Tea Shop in Higganum, Connecticut.

Jason's short story,

appears in THREE STORIES magazine, December 2009 issue.

York Correctional," as the 2nd Place winner in the community
non-daily feature division of the Excellence in Journalism Awards.

Jason's children's picture book
story,
The Growing Sweater, appears in the Braille
Institute's 2007 EXPECTATIONS
anthology of children's literature. The story was also a finalist in the 2006 Tassy Walden Awards: New Voices in Children's Literature contest.

The publication of The Island People,
a story novel, has been
delayed. Jason's The Man in the Black Frock Coat, a novel
in stories, will be published in its place on May 15, 2011. Click
