At the end of 2003 the New Century Writer Awards® had awarded $65,000 in cash, fellowships, and scholarships to 144 creative writers.

 In 2003 the New Century Writer Awards contests CLOSED due to the loss of much needed corporate subsidy in the post 9/11 and recessionary environments.

After six vibrant years this decision was made with great reluctance. Alas, all good things come to an end, and new doors open. New Century's founder, Jason Marchi, has gone on to his own writing and independent book development projects.
