FRONT DUST JACKET THE ISLAND PEOPLECome spend the summer on a resort island in New England . . . but don't get too comfortable . . . for things are not as relaxing or as inviting as they first appear. Whose voice is crying for help in the night fog when nobody is there? Whose name is that on the headstone above the fresh grave plot? Why is the ghost of a U-boat shipman haunting a young island woman? A lighthouse keeper insists a sailing vessel is in distress off Southeast light, but he’s the only one who can see it! And how far will one island native go to keep her beloved farm from being destroyed by greedy developers. These are the Island People, residents and summer visitors alike, who experience lost loves, summer ghosts, and romantic interludes. Over the course of a summer season you’ll meet the characters who can make us reconsider our own sense of place and belonging in a strange and unpredictable world. Where each of us is alone in life, yet connected in ways unseen but always felt.
